Born in Ardahan in 1991, Alev Güven completed her undergraduate degree in Psychological Counselling and Guidance at Gazi University in 2012. That year, she began working as a psychological counsellor and guidance teacher for the Ministry of National Education. After receiving a YLSY scholarship in 2014, she studied English at Yıldız Technical University and the University of Alabama. She then completed a master’s degree in Educational Psychology–Social Psychology at the University of Alabama and returned to Türkiye in 2019. She worked as an intelligence assessment practitioner and project coordinator at a Guidance Research Centre in Istanbul. Since 2024, she has worked as a lecturer in the Department of Psychological Counselling and Guidance at Uşak University’s Faculty of Education.

During her master’s studies at the University of Alabama, she served as vice-president of the Turkish Student Association and organised social and cultural activities.
