Davut Atar was born in Ankara in 1989 and began his education there. After completing his undergraduate degree in Forest Engineering at Çankırı Karatekin University, he began working as a forest engineer for a private forestry firm in Muğla, Aydın and Uşak in 2012. At the end of that year, he received a Ministry of National Education YLSY scholarship. He studied English at Ankara University in 2012–2013 and the University of Delaware in 2013–2014. Between 2014 and 2016, he completed a master’s degree in Natural Resource Planning and Management at the University of Florida in the United States.
Since 2016, he has worked as a forestry engineer with a master’s degree in the Monitoring and Control Division of the Department of Forest Management and Planning at the General Directorate of Forestry. He began doctoral studies in Forest Yield in 2017 and completed his PhD at Karatekin University in 2023.
He has published papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals and participated in projects with international organisations including UNDP, the World Bank and FAO.
He has a good command of English, is married and has two children.
